This is a listing of US and allied places and names in the RVN AO. The data are from AAR's, ORLL's, DSJ’s (daily staff journals),

published works as attributed, and other documents mostly available onlline. Firebase or LZ? If I can document arty on the ground,

I call it a firebase or artillery position. Lat/Long coordinates are datum WGS84. Letters in blue-underline after the notes are

hyperlinks to online resources—click to launch your web browser at that address. Numerals in parentheses after the notes refer to references at the end of the document. Character strings in italic-underline beginning with AD are report numbers from Defense Technical Information Center or National Technical Information Service. References beginning with AWM95 are reports from the Australian War Memorial. Not every name has a separate line entry—some are only in the notes. If you can't find something, try a search/find and check Don 'SGT Snuffy' Smith's very comprehensive listing before you quit...he's been at this much longer than I have. This is an ongoing effort and is current as of 3/11/16. The most recent version can be downloaded here.

These locales are available as a.kmz file, viewable in GoogleEarth—a free application showing these points and more plotted on a globe overlayed with high-resolution satellite photography. Double-clicking the file will launch GoogleEarth. The most recent version can be downloaded here.

All of South Vietnam is overlayed with L7014 1:50,000 combat charts registered as a best-fit to three geographic points. This set of maps can be downloaded here. The folder is very large (9 GB) and will take time to download. Instructions for use are in README.txt. If any difficulties are encountered with these downloads, contact me.

Feedback regarding additions, corrections, and commentary is welcome.
